Whiskers is a young female that someone was feeding for a few weeks. One day Whiskers disappeared. Three days later she came back dragging her back leg. The people who were feeding her knew something was very wrong.
We were called to help and Whiskers was taken to the Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital where she was met by the owner of the shelter. She was examined and x-rays were done. She was tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV which was negative. The x-ray showed that her leg was shattered and had to be removed.
During surgery pellets were found in her leg which indicated she was shot by a shot gun.
Whiskers had a hard time recovering and learning to walk with three legs. But she made it and finally got a wonderful home. The adopted family just lover her and she will never be out side again where she can be harmed ever again.
Thanks to the family who saved her and to the family who adopted her.
