Checkers has had a rough life. One of our volunteers walked to work. Everyday, Checkers would meet her and start
following her. She started feeding him everyday. Then one day she took her carrier with her and got him. She
took him home and after a few days got him to the Vets for Feline Leukemia/FIV test, which was negative. He got neutered, vaccinated, flea treated and wormed.
He started loosing her fur around his tail and developed scabs. He was taken to the Vets and found that, although he had no fleas after he was treated, he was allergic to flea saliva. He had to receive a Depot injection which healed his tail.
Checkers is very sweet and lovable. He loves to play but playing with the other cats is a problem for him because he likes to hid around the corner and jump on a passing cat. He thinks it is funny but the other cat hates it. It is so funny to watch but sometimes is causes a mild cat fight.
